Women's Commission
Catholic Diocese of Richmond

Begun in 1985, the Women's Commission of the Diocese of Richmond is part of the National Network of Diocesan Women's Commissions. The Commission advocates for women before the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and promotes women's spiritual growth and involvement in change to benefit the vulnerable members of society.

Our Mission

The Women's Commission of the Diocese of Richmond works to empower women and promote just structures in Church and society.

The Commission, serving as liaison to the Bishop, affirms and challenges the diocesan leadership to listen and respond to women's voices and to move toward greater inclusion and participation of women at all diocesan levels.

The Commission empowers and supports women in the diocese through advocacy, education, exploration of spirituality, networking, and opportunities for ministerial development, service, and leadership.
