The Office of Pastoral Planning is staffed by two full-time professionals, a Director and a Research Analyst.
Beth Neu

Mrs. Neu became Director of the Office of Pastoral Planning for the Catholic Diocese of Richmond in January of 2006. In this role she directs the Office and oversees the data analysis, meets with pastors and parish representatives and assists the Commission in developing recommendations to the Bishop.
Prior to joining the diocesan staff, Mrs. Neu worked in the Economic Development and Regional Planning professions. Mrs. Neu is a graduate of Indiana University and the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. She served on the Economic Development Institute staff from 1989 through 2000 as a lecturer, thesis consultant and class director.
Mrs. Neu is past president of the Indiana Economic Development Association and past Chairman of its Legislative Committee. She was also appointed by (then) Indiana Governor Frank O'Bannon to serve on the Citizen's Commission on Taxes and the Indiana Small Business Development Corporation. Mrs. Neu also served on the Boards of Directors of the American Economic Development Council and Goodwill Industries of the Roanoke Valley. She is currently a member of the Diocesan Priests' Personnel Assignment Committee.
An active member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Richmond, Mrs. Neu and her husband, Terry, have two adult children and one grandchild.
Bernadette Snyder
Research Analyst, Office of Pastoral Planning

Ms. Bernadette Snyder joined the Catholic Diocese of Richmond in the Office of Pastoral Planning in June 2007. As Research Analyst, she is responsible for collecting, organizing, and evaluating data relevant to the pastoral needs of the diocese. Ms. Snyder works closely with the director of the Office to ensure that information provided to the Diocesan Pastoral Planning Commission and the Bishop is accurate and up-to-date.
Prior to coming to the diocese, Ms. Snyder worked as a market analyst in the real estate industry. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate coursework at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she studied Mathematical Sciences and Geographical Information Systems (GIS), respectively.
Ms. Snyder is a member of the American Planning Association (APA) and is actively involved in various ministries at St. Michael parish in Glen Allen, where she is a parishioner.
