JustFaith II

JustFaith II is meant to familiarize participants with some of the tools of social transformation.  In the course of eight to nine months, participants are introduced to action skills and contemplative skills that allow the work on behalf of justice to be done with effectiveness, insight and wisdom.  This program offers an opportunity for a deliberate process for skill development in for the work of social ministry.

JustFaith II includes 18 bi-weekly sessions as well as a commitment by all the participants to a ministry internship that will provide ongoing engagement at a service agency site accompanied by skills supervision.  Other expectations include some reading, regular and participatory attendance at all sessions, a commitment to continue and/or strengthen their commitment to prayer and spiritual formation and a commitment to support the group.

Topics that will be covered include contemplative resources and the actions skills of advocacy, community organizing, legislative and political engagement, leadership development, dialogue, justice education, direct service and strategies for building local and global solidarity within the parish.

The only requirement to be a part of JustFaith II is that participants have completed JustFaith or have some other kind of comparable experience that has led them to have a solid and functional understanding of Catholic social teaching.
