High School Grading System

Catholic High Schools in the Diocese of Richmond use a uniform grading system for all students, which fosters high academic standards and places the student in a competitive position. This grading scale, recommended by the Diocesan School Board in May 2002, was implemented beginning in the 2003 academic year.

B = 87 – 89 3.0 3.17  
B- = 85 – 86 2.67 2.83  
C+ = 82 – 84 2.33 2.5  
C = 79 – 81 2.0 2.17  
C- = 77 – 78 1.67 1.83  
D+ = 75 – 76 1.33 1.5  
D = 72 – 74 1.0 1.17  
D- = 70 – 71 .67 .84
