Fine Arts

The Diocesan Consensus Curriculum published the Fine Arts Curriculum in May 2000. The curriculum provides each school with competencies for Drama, Dance, Music and Art. These competencies are aligned to the National Standards for the Arts.

Each school offers students the opportunity to develop their inherent talents, while at the same time supporting other academic curriculum.

Elementary schools hold concerts or produce shows that demonstrate each student's growth in the fine arts.

High schools support student talents in various ways.

The Diocesan School System is committed to developing the Fine Arts Programs throughout each school.

Technology

The Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Richmond believe that technology is an essential and supportive medium of and for learning.  In addition to being an increasingly necessary educational tool, technology provides teachers and  students the opportunity to use technology in all facets of the curriculum.

Emerging technologies for information access and communication are dramatically changing all facets of society.  Our schools welcome the challenge offered by technological advancements as well as the opportunity to strengthen the Faith and Learning communities of the schools throughout the diocese.  The Diocesan School System is committed to the development of sound technological infrastructures and to the equity of such structures throughout the school system.  The “Proven Excellence” of the diocesan system will be enhanced and supported by the Technological Systems of Communication.
