Why do you like Catholic Schools?
(Student Response)

Sam Keller - 3rd grade
Blessed Sacrament

You have religion. Religion is cool.

Jessica Steer - 3rd grade
Star of the Sea

I like Catholic schools because we learn more, and we have more free choice. You have more rules, which are good, so you don't do bad things.

Jacob Stroman - 6th grade
Walsingham

Catholic schools, unlike other schools, integrate religion into the curriculum. This is a huge plus, because today's kids need to know who that spirit everyone calls "God" is, and what he asks of us. I have also noticed that in Catholic schools, the kids are sizably nicer than in public schools. The atmosphere in Catholic schools is also very inviting. I have been going to a Catholic school for five years, and every one of those years has been a joy I will never forget.

Brian: Age 12
St. Gregory

I like learning about God. I like having class discussions about him with people I know and see everyday. I like my classmates. I like being able to get involved in things like donating food to the poor or doing projects with the nursing home. I like going to a school where you get prayed for on your birthday and where your family gets prayed for if something difficult is going on. I like getting to know the priests who say mass. I like playing on the sports teams. I like the feeling that everyone knows one another and that the kids who go here are more than just classmates are. We see each other at Mass and we play sports together. It feels good to get to know people through so many different ways.

Angela Stellute - 10th grade
Peninsula

I have many reasons why I like Catholic schools. I have been going to Catholic schools all of my life, and I am accustomed to the small ratio of teachers to students. I think teachers at Catholic schools give more time and effort to the students which helps them prepare for their careers. Also, I think Catholic schools give the students a sense of security, and let them express their Catholic faith freely.

6th grade
St. Joseph

The teachers and the faith they teach and how peaceful every one is there.

Bill Vinsh - 11th grade
St. Vincent de Paul

At St. Vincent, I get the opportunity to share what I am without people making judgment calls. I can actively participate in sports, extracurricular activities and still get the academic help I need.

Andrew - 12th grade
Holy Cross Regional

I like Catholic schools because they provide a safe learning environment. Catholic schools allow students to freely practice their beliefs and are themselves.

David Gundlach: 10th grade
Catholic High

I like Catholic schools because the teachers really care about the students and try to help them. Also, in Catholic schools, you learn good morals and values that can help you through life. Catholic schools make your class smaller and closer because you share your spirituality. Finally, everyone in the school is a friend and people try to help each other out.

Katie Hall - 9th grade
Sacred Heart

Provides a good Christian atmosphere in which to learn.
