VisionDiocesan School Advisory Board
Diocesan Staff

The Office of Catholic Schools serves 29 schools in the Diocese of Richmond. The Office serves as a primary resource for principals and oversees the implementation of the Consensus Curriculum, accreditation, certification of teachers, professional development programs, school finances and educational legislation. The Office maintains contact with each school in the system and visits each school at least twice a year.

The Office of Catholic Schools is directly responsible for the 11 regional schools. The Office hires, supervises and evaluates the principals of these schools. The School Advisory Board of the regional school is consultative to the superintendent and the principal of the school, and sits on the board in the superintendent's place when he/she cannot be present.

The Office acts in an advisory capacity to the pastor of a parish school. The School Advisory Board of a parish school is consultative to the principal and pastor of the school.

In both regional and parish schools the Office visits and works with the principals to implement all diocesan policies and programs. The private schools in the diocese are visited by the Office of Catholic Schools and are provided with resources by the Office whenever needed.

All schools must comply with the diocesan Consensus Curriculum in Religious Education and other disciplines.
