"Catholic Schools in the Diocece of Richmond, Virginia have a long history of excellence in education rooted in Jesus Christ and Catholic tradition.

It is my belief that Catholic Schools are a good formative opportunity to prepare students to take their place responsibly in this world and in service to the Church.

I invite you to spend a few moments reviewing the programs, policies and procedures that are in place.  You will find creativity and a high level of commitment to life-long learning."

Most Rev. Francis X. DiLorenzo
Bishop of Richmond

Annette Z. Parsons
Chief Education Administrator

Welcome to the Office Catholic  Education in the Diocese of Richmond, a collaborative structure including Youth Ministry and Christian Formation and Catholic Schools. The Diocese is home to 30 fine schools, 25 diocesan and 5 private schools.

All of our schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  In fact, we were the first Catholic diocese in the nation to be designated as a Catholic school system by SACS CASI as a result of our schools’ high standards and commitment to continuous improvement.

Most importantly, our schools provide an atmosphere in which students are nurtured in faith based on Gospel values and where morality, integrity, and habits of service to others are engendered.  While all schools are uniquely Catholic, they are open to children of all faiths.
