What is Pathways?
PATHWAYS for Catechist Formation
is a diocesan certification program that leads to catechesis with
grace and competence!
Designed for parish catechists of adults, youth or
children, PATHWAYS provides a program of
learning that includes a curriculum of study, prayer and
reflection. Catechists use multiple resources (texts,
articles, video/DVDs) to guide their study of church
documents, catholic doctrine and teaching/facilitation
skills. Catechists respond in writing to focus
questions submitted to a trained Reader for evaluation and
certification. Certified catechists are recognized
with a certificate and pin and designated as a Catechist for
the Diocese of Richmond. PATHWAYS is available online,
CD and in print.
Diocesan Catechist Certification
PATHWAYS for Catechist Formation is
the mandated diocesan training process for all parish catechists
and is described in the
Called to Be
Disciples, Catechetical Norms for the Diocese of
Richmond. Completion of the PARISH Catechist and SENIOR Catechist
levels of the PATHWAYS program is required for certification
as a catechist for the Diocese of Richmond. |
