Sr. Kate Dooley at Sullivan
Conference! I am excited to announce that Sr. Kate Dooley, OP, of Catholic University
will be the featured speaker at the Sullivan Conference for
Catechetical Leaders May 20-21 at the Roslyn Conference Center
in Richmond. Sr.
Kate is one of the "giants"
in the field of catechetics. Sullivan Conference
brochures have been mailed.
Annual Reporting Forms.
The annual 2008 Catechetical
Reporting Forms have been sent to pastors and catechetical
leaders at all parishes. The forms should be returned to OCF
by June 30, 2008. An expandable/interactive format for the
Reporting Form and Documentation Sheets for
Adults,
Youth and
Children
are linked to this announcement.
Third annual New Catechetical
Leader Institute will be held at the Well Retreat Center in
Smithfield, VA on July 24-27, 2008. The
Institute is available to new parish catechetical leaders who meet
the following criteria:
- work 20 hours or more per week
- will have one to three
years of experience in catechetical leadership by August, 2008 (the
Institute is for parish catechetical leaders, not catechists).
- can participate
and stay for the entire Institute which will be held from Thursday
afternoon until Sunday afternoon.

Regions 5 and 7 will hold their
annual Graced by God Conference for catechetical
leaders and catechists on October 11. They have secured
Kathleen Chesto as their keynote speaker! More details will
follow.
Essential Resource List - Attached is a
list that NCCL has distributed that names most of the basic
catechetical documents that professional catechetical leaders should
have on their bookshelf or access to somewhere in their parish.

As soon as these revisions are completed the handbook
will be reloaded.
