About Us

Our mission is two-fold:

• To support and guide engaged couples as they prepare for the sacrament of marriage;
• To support priests, deacons and other pastoral ministers in their implementation of the Richmond Diocese guidelines for marriage preparation. 

The aim of these guidelines is to foster a vigorous commitment to the evangelization and catechesis of engaged couples, to the health and prosperity of their relationships and to the quality and permanence of their sacramental marriages. The guidelines seek to secure the best of what our Church has to offer to couples engaged to be married. These guidelines provide pastoral ministers a foundation for designing and conducting local marriage preparation programs. They can also serve as a framework for assessing existing programs.
