The Office of Human Resources began
in the early 1980's as a response to the "Called to
Action" Conference of the Diocese of Richmond. Founded
on the Church's social teaching, the Human Resources Office
provides direction and support to employers and employees
by promoting good personnel policies and practices. The
administration of the diocesan benefit plans contributes
significantly to the diocesan commitment to a living wage
for lay and religious.
Considerable time is spent assisting employers in the hiring
process and in times of growth, transition, and conflict.
Published salary schedules (see Employment)
are revised and updated to enable parishes and schools achieve
a living wage that is competitive enough to attract and
retain employees. |
