How to Apply

The Diocese is a good place within which to work. A long-standing commitment to justice in the workplace from the Bishop and other leaders in the Diocesan Church has led to a constant updating of the benefits and employment practices in the parishes and schools of the Diocese.

Please note that each parish and school in the Diocese hires its own staff. An application form is used universally among the parishes, schools, and central offices. On the other hand, Commonwealth Catholic Charities and Catholic Charities of Hampton Roads do their own hiring and determine their own personnel practices. Catholic hospitals in the Diocese are separate institutions and should be contacted directly for position vacancies.

Refugee and Immigration Services mirrors the personnel practices of the Diocese and has its own application for hiring staff.

Persons seeking employment within the Diocese are encouraged to view vacancy postings for parishes, schools, or other agencies of the Diocese, such as the Central Administrative Offices (the Chancery). Job seekers should contact the parish, school, or agency directly. Completing an application is required for all vacancies in the Diocese.
