Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with much sadness that I tell you that Sr. Diane Guy entered into eternal life Saturday night, April 19th.  She knew she was home in Ridley Park and that she was with her family.   Funeral services will be held in Pennsylvania on Friday, and there will also be a Memorial Mass in Richmond at a later date.

Before she left Richmond last week she said, "My mission with young people in Virginia continues because of our mutual commitment to the young adults in our Church."

The Office of Campus & Young Adult Ministry coordinates campus ministry at the universities and colleges (community, junior and four-year) within the Diocese.  It recruits personnel to coordinate and supervise the ministry on the individual campuses.   It also coordinates and resources parish-based ministry with young adults in their late teens, twenties, and thirties.

The office provides a full program of Diocesan-wide retreats, conventions and workshops for students and other young adults.
It is also involved in fund-raising for these and similar projects.

Young adulthood is a passage of life when new decisions are made, paths are taken and a place is established in one's community. Young adult ministry is for those in their late teens, twenties and thirties (singles or young families), with varied professions and goals. It provides an opportunity to share friendship, fellowship and faith with other Catholic Christians.

Young adult ministry encourages people to interact among themselves, with the parish and beyond. A mark of the ministry is multi-cultural hospitality; everyone is welcome.

The ministry is organized by young adults with the support of parish staff, and provides a forum for spiritual, service, educational, and social activities. All are invited to join the fellowship by asking parishes for the ministry and for a local young adult contact.
