Sunday November 22, 2009

"Since 1970 the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) has provided financial support and hope to low income communities across our nation. CCHD has helped grassroots leaders to make a real difference on critical issues like crime, affordable housing, education, and living-wage jobs. I encourage you to make a generous donation to the CCHD Collection on Sunday, November 22."

-- Most Rev. Francis Xavier DiLorenzo
Bishop of Richmond

It is through the support of our parishes that the successes and changes brought about by funded groups and educational outreach are possible. Twenty-five percent of the collection stays right in the diocese, with local grants receiving awards of up to $7,500.  Richmond currently has five local grants awarded to community organizations. Seventy-five percent of the collection goes to the National Office for grants to local community organizations across the country, currently including three in the Diocese of Richmond.

On November 22, 2009 the annual CCHD collection for the Diocese of Richmond took place. Contributions can be sent to the address below after this date, and still be counted for the annual collection.
