Cardinals' First General Congregation on March 4
Angelo Cardinal Sodano, Dean of the College of Cardinals, has summoned the Cardinals to gather in Rome.
The Cardinals of the world, including those from the United States, will begin meetings on Monday, March 4, in the Paul VI Aula, Synod of Bishops Hall.
There they will meet together to begin preparations for conclave. The date for the beginning of conclave will be set by the College of Cardinals in the first days after the sede vacante (the see is vacant). In order to be a Cardinal elector, one must be under the age of 80 at the time of conclave.
